Red Lighthouse Morning

Poolbeg LighthouseWalking to the Red Lighthouse is one of my favourite things to do. I wrote about it for my blog, Hush. Here’s a short recording of the piece, complete with photographs. Have a listen, and share if you enjoy!

  1. I read your post on Hush, and it is lovely–both pictures and words. For some reason, I can’t get the Adobe file to play (but I am uploading something to youtube now: I’ll try again once it’s finished).

    1. Hi Sandi, thanks for taking the time to head over to Hush. Did the Adobe link work for you? I was a bit reluctant to use it in case it proved temperamental, but it seems to have worked for most people. Let me know if you had any luck with it.

      Thanks Sandi!

      1. I was able to play the Adobe file on my phone: I loved listening to you read as the slide show played. I always catch nuances that I miss when I listen to books–same here. Beautiful!!

  2. Aileen, this nearly left me speechless. I’m not sure which is more lovely- your photos, your narrative, or your soothing voice. What an amazing gift you have for artistry! Thank you for sharing this gift with us. Best, Karen

    1. Hi Karen, thanks so much. Glad you enjoyed it. Feel free to share!

  3. Very nice Aileen – memories of nearly breaking my neck jogging along those flagstones! What a feat of engineering it was for its time. (Btw is that a Munster accent?)

    1. Thanks Roy. Can’t imagine running out there. Difficult enough to walk without twisting an ankle! Not a Munster accent, I’m afraid. Dublin, born and bred, although I did spend a long time in Cincinnati. Took me a few years to lose the broad vowels and rising intonation of America, but think I managed it.:)
